All of us Super Earth Soldiers are eagerly awaiting the next Helldivers 2 update. Arrowhead has admitted that they are “100% aware performance ain’t great” right now, and they have confirmed some fixes for the next update. While the next HD2 update will be focused on performance with “as many bug fixes as possible,” Arrowhead’s QA lead has possibly hinted at a buff for a Helldivers 2 weapon that “does indeed suck”.

Helldivers 2 dev seemingly hints at buff for weapon

Amongst the Helldivers 2 community, there have been some gripes about the Plasma Accelerator. There have been calls for it to be buffed in several posts on Reddit, and the biggest change players seem to unanimously want is for the drop off to be removed.

On Discord, a user asked the developer, “What’s the current verdict from the balance team on our only actually categorical sniper rifle, the Plasma Accelerator? Is it going to be buffed? Could it possibly get heavy armour penetration (AP4)?”.

In response, QA lead, JoJo, said, “Plasma Accelerator does indeed suck and I have told the folks working on balance a couple times. What they do ..well you’ll have to see”.

This seemingly hints that a change is in the works. You’d have to assume it’s a buff, but any potential buff is not suggested. Again, the biggest issue the community seems to unanimously have with the Accelerator is the drop off.

We don’t know when changes for the weapon will arrive. It’s possible it could be for the next update, or it could be scheduled for one after seeing as the next patch will largely be focused on bug fixes.
