Arrowhead are making improvements to Helldivers 2 following feedback from the community. Fans will soon be treated to a new update full of balance fixes, and this will include heavily-requested buffs for weapons. While weapon buffs are on the way to appease fans, Arrowhead are more wary about implementing changes to bots because it could lead to “bigger repercussions” for Helldivers 2.

The next Helldivers 2 update is set to arrive on September 17th as part of Arrowhead’s 60-day roadmap. Per the announcement shared on Steam, this update will rework armor penetration, as well as heavily buff weapons such as the Autocannon and Heavy Machine Gun. Not only that, but the upcoming update will also overhaul enemies to make them feel more rewarding to kill.

All of the above announced by Arrowhead is massively exciting for fans. The developer is making changes based on player feedback, and, while they are aware the community desire changes to bots, Arrowhead is currently taking a wait-and-see approach before taking any action.

Helldivers 2 dev “might make changes” to bots

On the Helldivers Discord, community manager Twinbeard was asked, “Can we please get some help against fighting the bots?”. The user asking for more assistance explained, “A good chunk of players insist on fighting bugs only and we are losing a lot of ground to the bots because of it. I’m not asking for restrictions on bugs or more enticing rewards, just have our efforts be more noticeable”.

Twinbeard responded, “This is something we’re monitoring and might make changes to long term.” While Arrowhead are monitoring the situation, they are cautious about taking action right away.

The community manager explained Arrowhead doesn’t “want to make rash decisions about things in the galactic war since it might have bigger repercussions”. Twinbeard stated the developers “want the whole war and galaxy to feel as one”.

While changes to bots are not being implemented right now, it is under consideration. Twinbeard said Arrowhead “will likely adjust MO:s and/or make it more exciting in other ways” if it continues to be a problem at the result of “skewed player count”.
