Microsoft revealed during its Gamescom showcase this week that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be heading to Xbox Game Pass early next month.

Originally released in 2014, Halo: The Master Chief Collection features the first four Halo titles fully spruced up for Xbox One, with Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary and Halo 2: Anniversary receiving the biggest visual makeovers.

While it was a fine package in terms of Halo's single-player campaigns, the multiplayer side of things was plagued by various bugs at launch, something which developer 343 Industries is still busy ironing out nearly four years later.

To be fair, the studio is doing a pretty good job of enhancing the collection, with Xbox One X support in the pipeline as well as a number of quality-of-life improvements

The next mainline chapter in the series, Halo Infinite, is currently in development at 343 Industries and SkyBox Labs.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will launch for Xbox Game Pass on September 1.
