It’s official, Halo Infinite will indeed be launching on December 8, it’s been confirmed during Gamescom.

Xbox and 343 Industries confirmed the news from earlier in the week during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live broadcast. At the same time, they also revealed the opening cinematic for Season One of the game’s multiplayer mode. Focusing on one Commander Agryna, we get a glimpse into her journey and how she comes to help lead the next generation of Spartans you’ll play as in the game’s opening season.

These were not the only Halo-related announcement during Gamescom either. Xbox also unveiled a couple of Halo-themed pieces of hardware to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary. Firstly, there’s the first Limited Edition Xbox Series X. Featuring a custom Halo-themed design, it’s even got a custom power on and power off noise. The black console with a blue vent also includes a matching controller with an iridium gold 20 year mark on the back.

Meanwhile, the Halo Infinite Limited Edition Elite Series 2 controller comes with a design based on the Master Chief’s helmet. Coming in a metallic green with a fancy gold d-pad, it also includes a custom UNSC-insignia carrying case. Picking it up will also net you an exclusive Xbox controller weapon charm in Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer. Very fancy.

Check out all three trailers for yourself below. The Xbox Series X – Halo Limited Edition bundle and Elite Series 2 controller will both be available on November 15. Halo Infinite, meanwhile, launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on December 8.
