343 Industries has delayed the reveal of a planned roadmap updating fans on the progress of Halo Infinite‘s campaign co-op & Forge modes.

Head of Creative Joseph Staten broke the news via his Twitter account. “Hey folks. In November, I said we’d have a Halo Infinite update on our Seasonal roadmap, Co-Op, and Forge in January. We need more time to finalize our plans so what we share is something you can rely on. This work is my top priority, and we’ll have an update as soon as we can.”

While yes, this is only a delay of an announcement, it’s still another speedbump for Halo Infinite fans. It was announced back in August that the game wouldn’t have campaign co-op or Forge mode at launch. Instead, it was hoped that the two modes would come around three-to-six months after the game’s release in December.

However, by November Staten announced that the two fan-favourite modes would now not arrive until May 2022 at the earliest. That was when, at the time, he promised there’d be more news to share with fans in January. There’s no word if the delay means the modes themselves also need further work behind the scenes, but hopefully this just means 343 want to be certain before committing to any promises.

It’s a shame too, as Halo Infinite is still a decent game without it as per Josh in his review. Co-op is still notable by its absence for long time Halo fans though, so fingers crossed we’ll get to blow up the Banished on Zeta Halo with a buddy soon.
