Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be huge. It’s one of the most expensive games ever made with a budget exceeding $1 billion, and projections estimate the game will make most, if not all, of its budget back in just pre-orders alone. Take-Two Interactive’s CEO has stated they are confident in the release date, and recent job listings suggest the game is poised for a huge marketing campaign all over the globe. While everyone knew the launch of Grand Theft Auto’s numerically sixth installment would be huge, it’s possibly set to be even bigger as GTA 6 has appeared on the PSN store in countries Grand Theft Auto has previously been banned.

GTA 6 appears on PSN store in previously banned countries

We recently reported that GTA 5 is finally getting officially sold in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It was previously banned in Saudi Arabia back in July 2018 for its depictions of drugs, violence, and explicit sexual content, rather than due to a child killing themselves because of an online game, as debunked by gamesindustrybiz.

GTA 5 has received a 21+ age rating in Saudia Arabia, and it will officially be sold starting July 17th. Everyone theorised that this means GTA 6 will be sold in the middle east, too, but at the time there was no confirmation.

However, GTA 6 has now appeared on the Saudi Arabia PSN store, as shared by BlueGamingSA. BlueGamingSA is an Arabic network dedicated to covering video game news. They were one of the first to reveal GTA 5 receiving an age rating in Saudi Arabia, and now they have reported GTA 6 has joined the Saudi Arabia PSN store.

On the SA PSN store, there’s just a link to trailer 2, along with the description, “Experience the immersive and biggest evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet when GTAVI arrives on May 26, 2026”.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, GTA 6 countdown claims Rockstar’s upcoming game has also appeared on the PSN store for the following countries:

  • United Arab Emirates
  • Qatar
  • Kuwait
  • Oman
  • Bahrain
  • Lebanon

Presumably, GTA 6 in Saudi Arabia will have a 21+age rating as recently given to Grand Theft Auto 5. This is huge news for the game as, although there would’ve been workarounds to get GTA 6, the ability to official sell in countries GTA 5 was banned should mean the launch of GTA 6 is even bigger than expected.

Looking at the replies to BlueGamingSA, while a lot of Saudi Arabians are happy, translations reveal some are still planning to import the game from abroad or will simply create a PSN account under the guise of another nation to avoid possible issues involving censorship.

In other Grand Theft Auto news, the latest GTA 6 trailer continues to crush records, and a Grammy-winning music producer has shared discussions with Rockstar involving artists and custom radio stations.
