Speaking to the Croatian car magazine Auto Klub, Yamauchi said that the next game in the Gran Turismo series, which should arrive in 2007, will be 100 times more detailed than Gran Turismo 4. In the interview Yamauchi said he hopes that GT5 will be finished during 2007, although no firm date is set (not a surprise given we are still in 2005).
To date the Gran Turismo series has sold over 44 million copies worldwide. GT fans won’t have to wait until 2007 for the next instalment in the franchise as a PSP version is planned, likely to be released some time in 2006. We hope to hear more about both games at the Tokyo Game Show in September.
