In a surprise move, Warner Bros Games has announced that Gotham Knights will indeed be getting a four-player co-op mode after all.
On Twitter, the game’s official Twitter account revealed that Heroic Assault will be a free 4 player co-op experience and will arrive on November 29, 2022.
Specific details on the new mode are yet to be revealed – with the tweet linking to a page on the game’s official website that makes the declaration – and not much else just yet.
A further link takes you to the game’s official FAQ page, but it hasn’t yet been updated with the new Heroic Assault info. We’ll update when we find out more.
It was previously rumoured that Gotham Knights could be getting a 4 player mode after mention of 4 players was found on the game’s listing on the PlayStation Store back in May.
However, Warner Bros – at the time – refuted those claims, saying that the story co-op would only be playable with two heroes.

That appears to still be the case, but it looks like you might be able to team up with your friends in this separate mode – presumably with one player controlling each of the four heroes of the game.
And the DLC will be a free addition, so no need to fork out extra. Lovely! Gotham Knights arrives on October 21.
