Sony’s Santa Monica Studio has warned God of War Ragnarok fans to be wary of spoilers online as we reach the final week before the highly anticipated sequel’s release.

The studio posted the warning to fans on Twitter, after learning of some copies of the game making it out into the wild early after an unnamed retailer broke the street date according to the game’s director Cory Barlog.

The message reads thusly: “As we approach launch, it is important for our studio to preserve the experience of God of War Ragnarok for players who want to enjoy the game for the first time without spoilers.”

“We ask that you please be considerate of the many fans who do not want to accidentally see clips, gameplay or narrative spoilers and avoid sharing them wider.”

“We are doing our best to limit the exposure of unsanctioned footage and screenshots, but they reality is that we cannot catch everything.”

The studio has recommended that those who want to stay super safe should mute any hashtags and keywords associated with the game until release day.

Those who want to know what the game is like don’t have to wait too much longer, as the embargo for the game will lift at 4pm UK time on November 3.

“We can assure you it will be worth the wait to experience the game yourself when it is released in less than two weeks.

The game itself proper is set to drop on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 9.
