Santa Monica Studio has already confirmed that the game will not have a Photo Mode at launch. For now, players will just have to use the Share button located on DualShock controllers to take in-game images. But when exactly will it be available in God of War Ragnarok? Here’s what we know.
When is Photo Mode coming to God of War Ragnarok?
Photo Mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarok in a new patch a few weeks after launch. Santa Monica Studio noted that they also plan to provide further details as soon as they are close to releasing it.

Although this seems like a significant exclusion in the game’s launch, the previous entry went through a similar experience in 2018. God of War, released in 2018, was also released without a Photo Mode initially. It was only included in an update that was sent out a few weeks after the game was made available to the public.
With this in mind, we should expect the same strategy from Santa Monica Studio going forward with regards to the game’s Photo Mode. Launching God of War Ragnarok itself, after all, is a much more important part of the plan in the grand scheme of things.
