Genshin Impact 4.8 banners

The Genshin Impact 4.8 banners are as follows: the first phase will feature reruns of Navia and Nilou. In the second phase, the banners will introduce the newest character Emilie and a rerun for Yelan. There are no new four-star characters this time around, and only one new five-star unit.

Emilie

  • Dendro Vision
  • 5-Star

Emilie is a perfumer from Fontaine. She uses a polearm in combat and her attacks are all themed around scents and it appears she synergises extremely well with Pyro characters. When you use her Skill, she summons a Lumidouce that will fire Dendro protectiles at foes in range, while also increasing her damage done to enemies suffering from the Burning debuff. The Lumidouce has three levels and it will increase through these levels based on the number of Scents you pick up on the field when they are created. Running alongside Emilie’s banner will be her signature weapon on the Weapon Banner.

Genshin Impact 4.8 new additions

New Summer event area, Simulanka

The biggest addition in 4.8 is the introduction of the special limited-time Summer area. This area will be available to explore during patch 4.8, but it will be removed when patch 4.9 launches. In the past, HoYoverse has typically created these unique maps for the summer, with the previous maps being the Summertime Odyssey and the Summer Paradise map. In 4.8, this new map is a Fairytale world called Simulanka, and it features a colourful design and fun origami animals to interact with.

New outfits for Nilou and Kirara

Alongside the new Summer map, new outfits are being added for 5-Star character Nilou and 4-Star character Kirara. You can claim Kirara’s new outfit for free, simply by collecting enough resources in Simulanka to unlock it. If you want Nilou’s outfit, you’ll have to buy it from the game’s shop using Genesis Crystals.

Quality of life improvements – world bosses

HoYoverse also announced there will be new quality-of-life improvements in patch 4.8. In the next update, all World Bosses will have their respawn time reduced to only 10 seconds. At the moment, you need to wait around two minutes for a World Boss to respawn, so this will make it much easier to farm for character ascension materials.

Encounter Points overhaul

Alongside this, you will also be able to claim your Daily Comissions much easily thanks to the overhauled Encounter Points system. As it stands, you can do other activities in Genshin to earn Encounter Points, which you then turn in for Primogems. This is an alternative to doing all of your Daily Comissions and now you can earn Encounter Points by spending Resin on World Bosses, for example.
