MakinGames’ retro-fused fighting romp Raging Justice will be looking for a punch-up on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on May 8, having secured a publishing deal with Team17.

The studio also confirmed a third playable character for Raging Justice, with 15-year-old brawler Ashley King joining the fray in an attempt to clean up the mean streets of Big Smoke City. Street-smart Ash developed his repertoire based on action movie heroes, and utilises a ‘fast and lethal’ style that includes his signature Crane Kick finisher.

If you’re wondering if Raging Justice is a bit like Streets of Rage, well, you’d be right. While clearly having its own style (you can opt to arrest enemies if you want) the game channels that vintage side-scrolling beat-’em-up vibe where you simply roll through town, battering any goons that are foolish enough to stand in your way. What more could you want?

‘We realised that Raging Justice needed a third playable character and we wanted someone who would fit the style of the game yet give a very different feel when playing,’ commented MakinGames’ lead programmer, Nic Makin.

‘We chose a teenager because I wanted something different to the usual ‘veteran cop/ex-military’ type. I wanted more of a fish out of water type character, someone who might have ended up in the situation by accident but still manages to hold their own and kick some serious arse!’ added lead artist, Jay Howse.
