Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has introduced a variety of welcome changes to the battle royale, but none more so than the latest slide cancel glitch that has players skating everywhere they go. According to a few reports, it seems that this latest exploit is allegedly made possible due to the fact that mud has been added to the terrain, making it easier for people to glide along the ground.

Of course, slide canceling isn’t exactly a new term within the FPS community as this agile motion has long been a part of the genre since it was discovered in the 2019 Modern Warfare remake. However, it has since been removed from the latest Modern Warfare 2 installment so its appearance in the Epic Games battle royale now has CoD fans undoubtedly feeling slightly envious as players continue to slide all over the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 map.

Based on a clip posted by a user named ackermanacks, you’ll only be able to attempt this glitch whenever your character’s legs are covered with mud. Once your avatar’s legs are covered with the thick ground sludge, you should be able to slide effortlessly across the landscape. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that if you get submerged in water, the mud will inevitably wash off so you’ll have to visit another mud pit again.

Using this exploit, the post creator was able to take an enemy by surprise due to the insane movement buff that it grants. Most commenters under the thread were predictably impressed as one person said that it was “time to vault mud for the whole season.” Another user, however, decided to poke fun at the Modern Warfare crowd after asking whether this was “that slide canceling thing that CoD players want.”

If you’re looking to make use of this exploit, however, then you may need to do so soon as the developers could already be in the process of introducing a nerf for this specific glitch. But, if you aren’t the slide canceling type and you just want to play the game casually, then we suggest checking out our pages on all Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons and all Fortnite augments for Chapter 4 Season 3 so you know what other new features to play around with.
