The next Fortnite update is only a few days away. Epic Games added it to staging servers, preparing it for its release on Tuesday, March 11. This will be the first major update of Chapter 6 – Season 2 and will add many new things. Some of these additions have already been leaked, including a unique weapon called Pump & Dump.

Some of the upcoming content was even shown by Epic in a trailer for the season, including the new item. Since it’s another strong close-range weapon, we expect it to shift the meta and force Fortnite players to adapt their playstyles.

The Pump & Dump weapon is coming with the next Fortnite update

The dual-wielding mechanic has been a part of Fortnite since Season 4, with Epic Games introducing several weapons that utilized it, including the iconic Dual Pistols. Now, the mechanic is making a return with the Pump & Dump weapon, but with a twist. Instead of wielding two identical weapons, this new item will combine a shotgun and a submachine gun for a fresh gameplay experience.

Considering that both shotguns and submachine guns are unstoppable at close range, the new weapon will wreak havoc. Not only will it be used to deal quick headshot damage, but the SMG can easily destroy walls and other obstacles.

The upcoming weapon will come in multiple rarities, including Mythic. On the first day of the season, the Mythic version was accidentally enabled in Team Rumble, giving us an early preview of its stats. Interestingly, the stats are divided into two sections, one for the shotgun and another for the SMG.

  • Damage: 92 / 15
  • Magazine size: 4 / 30
  • Fire rate: 0.95 / 10
  • Reload time: 1.57

The next Fortnite update is set to come out on March 11. Since it’s a major update, it will require a download, and we also expect the servers to be down for at least an hour.
