The latest Fortnite update brought many changes to the popular video game. Not only has Epic Games added new content but the existing content has been changed. This includes five new items that were added with the release of Chapter 6. More specifically, the game developer released a couple of buffs and nerfs for them.

In this article, we will take a look at all the changes that arrived with the latest Fortnite balance update.

The first balance update of Fortnite Chapter 6 brings many changes

The latest Fortnite chapter arrived on December 1 and brought a lot of new content. Besides the new island, Epic has released many new items, forcing players to adapt their playstyle once again. These new items include mostly weapons, but also some utilities for mobility and healing. Many of them have gone through a big change with the latest update.

These are all the changes that Epic released:

  • Twin Fire Auto Shotgun now has a faster reload
  • Holo-Twister Assault Rifle deals slightly less damage, especially at longer distances
  • The maximum distance of the Void Oni Mask portal has been reduced
  • Surgefire SMG now reaches its full fire rate faster
  • Oni Shotgun now deals significantly more damage

Considering that all of these items are new and players are still getting used to them, we can expect more balance changes in the future. However, it appears that Epic Games will go on a winter break from December 23 to January 5. Due to this, new changes may not be released over the next four weeks.

Interestingly, the Fortnite developer has also released balance changes for the OG mode. Chests and ammo boxes now have a 100% spawn rate, while Traps and Slurp Juice are now more common. On top of this, ammo has been a problem in the first week of the game mode, which is why Epic buffed the amount received from ammo boxes.
