Epic Games released the v29.40 Fortnite update last week, adding a lot of new content. The highlight of the update was a massive Star ars collaboration, which brought new stuff for every game mode. Interestingly, this was supposed to be the final update of Chapter 5 Season 2, but it appears that this is no longer the case.

The Fortnite developer also revealed a bug fix that will come with the next week’s update. However, we also expect some other new content, including skins and event files.

The next Fortnite update will come on May 14

Epic recently addressed an issue with the Cinematic Sequence Device in UEFN. The device is currently not working properly, but it appears that the game developer has already found a way to fix it. However, the fix will come out with the next update on Tuesday, May 14, Epic confirmed on X (formerly Twitter). This will likely be the final update of Chapter 5 Season 2.

The v29.40 update was supposed to be the last update of the season, but it seems that Epic decided to change a couple of things. We currently don’t know the build number of the upcoming patch, but it will likely be v29.41 or v29.50. If it’s the latter, we expect the Fortnite developer to release a lot of new content.

Considering that Epic has already added a lot of new files with the latest update, it will be interesting to see what the next one will bring. We will also have a season-ending event soon, which might be the highlight of the upcoming patch. The next event will be active over the last week or two of the season, so adding it on May 14 makes sense.

At the moment, we don’t have more information regarding the surprising Fortnite update. However, you can expect it to be released at 4 AM Eastern Time. We will keep an eye on any updates from Epic and share them with you.
