The latest Fortnite update has introduced tons of new content. From new game modes to cosmetics, players have lots of stuff to enjoy over the summer. Interestingly, Epic Games also removed some things from its popular game, as an iconic mode was axed after more than six years. This was a rather surprising decision, but it does make sense.
The next time you launch Fortnite, you will notice that Team Rumble is gone. This mode was replaced by Training Grounds, another big-team mode, and may not return anytime soon.
Why can’t I find Team Rumble mode in Fortnite?
With the release of the v36.10 Fortnite update on June 18, Epic Games removed the Team Rumble mode. This mode was primarily used by casual players to complete challenges, so it’s no surprise that it was removed. In fact, its player count peaked at only 1,946 concurrent players over the past week, which shows a massive drop in its popularity.
Team Rumble was first added to Fortnite in November 2018. Back then, it was a limited-time game mode. Due to its popularity, Epic Games brought it back as a permanent mode half a year later. This team deathmatch mode was quite popular when it first came out, but unfortunately, its player count has drastically decreased over the past few years.
Instead of Team Rumble, players can now play Training Grounds, a new game mode in Fortnite. Training Grounds features an 8v8 battle, with each player starting with a hero weapon from Chapter 6 – Season 3. The map features a regular rotation of POIs from the current chapter, and just like in Team Rumble, players can complete Battle Royale quests in this mode.
At the moment, it’s unknown whether the removal of Team Rumble from Fortnite is a permanent move. However, it will likely return to the game at some point, at least as a limited-time mode.
