Storm is one of the most important mechanics in Fortnite. It forces players to constantly be on their feet and eventually face off each other. Throughout the years, Epic Games has made several changes to the mechanic, trying to make it better. Unfortunately, the latest season comes with a game-breaking glitch that is simply not fun at all.
Epic released a smaller Fortnite update on Tuesday, unvaulting a couple of items and removing one Zero Build mode. While the update did not make any changes to the regular Battle Royale mode, it did cause a big issue in it.
The Fortnite storm has a massive problem
The storm is supposed to damage everyone caught in it. When the game just begins, the storm is mild and deals only one damage per second. However, this amount increases throughout the game and can easily take players down in just a few seconds in the end game. On top of this, Epic Games implemented Storm Sickness, further punishing those who spend too much time in it.
Over the past 24 hours, many Fortnite players reported a game-breaking problem with the storm. For some reason, players can become immune to its damage, which gives them a massive advantage in the entire match. In other words, becoming immune to the storm results in an easy victory, as there is no need to fight enemies.
According to Reddit user Tesla0713, players can easily abuse the storm glitch by damaging themselves. This doesn’t always work, but when it does, it results in immunity. Several other players have complained about the same issue, claiming that they lost a match in an unfair way.
Considering how serious this problem is, we expect Epic to investigate it and release a fix shortly. In the meantime, watch out for storm abusers and make sure to report them!
