Fortnite Sidekicks have been officially revealed by Epic Games. The game developer explained how exactly they will work and revealed some of the pets that will be added to the game. Epic also revealed the prices of these pets, and surprisingly, some of them cost more than skins. Yes, you read that right.
One Sidekick will be included with the new Battle Pass, while another one will be given for free to eligible players. Everything else will mostly come to the Item Shop, where players will have to spend north of 1000 V-Bucks.
How Much Do Sidekicks Cost in Fortnite?
The first batch of Fortnite Sidekicks will arrive on November 7, less than a week after the launch of a new season. These Sidekicks will cost 1200 and 1500 V-Bucks, which is quite expensive. Fortunately, all of them can be customized, allowing players to create unique combinations. However, this is definitely not enough to justify the hefty price tag.
All of a sudden, paying $2.50 for horse armor in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion looks more than reasonable! While Fortnite won’t have horses, it will have adorable little pets. However, as cute as they are, paying $10 or more for them is not a rational move for many players.

Those unwilling to pay more than 1000 V-Bucks for Sidekicks will be able to get Peels, a Peely-themed pet who will be featured in the new Battle Pass. Considering that the seasonal pass will have many other cosmetics, including The Simpsons characters, this is certainly a great deal.
Fortnite will eventually bring collaboration Sidekicks, and some of them may even cost 2000 V-Bucks. It will be interesting to see if players will buy these pets or if Epic will have to adjust their prices, just as they did with car bodies in 2023.
