The Rocket Ram has been the most entertaining Fortnite item this season. While its damage isn’t significant, it’s amazing for moving quickly around the map and demolishing buildings with ease. However, Epic Games decided to nerf it once again.
The popular item was nerfed earlier in the season as Epic nerfed its spawn rate. Eventually, the Rocket Ram was removed from competitive game modes, which made a lot of sense. However, the development team brought the item back with the v26.20 update, but it was drastically nerfed.

Latest Fortnite nerf is exclusive to competitive modes
The first Rocket Ram nerf affected all game modes as its spawn rate was reduced across the board. However, the latest Fortnite nerf only affects the item in competitive modes. This comes as no surprise considering how strong the item is against buildings.
While the popular item has returned to competitive modes, it’s been drastically nerfed. Instead of unlimited uses, which is the same in regular modes, competitive players now only have 3 charges of the item. In addition to this, the Rocket Ram no longer deals direct damage.
While this is a drastic nerf, there’s no doubt that it’s the right one. The weapon is very powerful against structures, and giving it unlimited charges wouldn’t be a great idea. Considering that its structural damage has stayed the same, the item can still be used to wreak a havoc in late-game circles.
It will be interesting to see how the latest Fortnite nerf will affect the community. The important thing is that the Rocket Ram is still powerful, even after the last update. Due to this, we expect competitive players to carry it in their inventories, but save it for the end of the game.
