Fortnite patch notes: New Rocket Ram, Lightsabers, Ahsoka Tano, and more

Epic Games released the v26.20 update on Tuesday, September 26. This is the second major update of Chapter 4 – Season 4, and it’s no surprise that it brought a lot of new content. With the Fortnitemares event just around the corner, Epic also added several Halloween-themed cosmetics.

Unfortunately, the game developer stopped releasing detailed Fortnite patch notes. However, it’s easy to find out all the changes by checking the new game data. Thanks to it, we’ve prepared the latest patch notes for you, and you can check them below.

Fortnite patch notes – September 26, 2023

Gameplay changes

The v26.20 update has brought a new version of the Rocket Ram. The powerful item was removed from competitive playlists earlier in the season, which is why Epic Games added a new variant of it. Competitive modes now have a nerfed version of the Rocket Ram that has limited uses.

Both core and competitive modes have received two new Reality Augments:

• Marksman Headshots – Marksman Rifle headshots deal increased damage
• Ninja Training – Increased movement speed while crouching

Lightsabers have been unvaulted for a limited time. Considering that Ahsoka Tano, a popular Star Wars character, is part of the Season 4 Battle Pass, this comes as no surprise. Ahsoka’s lightsabers have also been added and can now be picked up.

Deku’s Smash was vaulted with the update. However, Todoroki’s Ice Wall has stayed in the game and will be available until the end of the season.

Cosmetic items

We will also include new cosmetic items with these Fortnite patch notes. The v26.20 update has brought many new cosmetics, including a new Fortnite Crew pack and the upcoming Transformers bundle. These items will all be released in October.

Epic Games has also added several new Halloween-themed skins with the latest Fortnite update. These skins will likely be released with the Fortnitemares event, which should also come in a few weeks.

Ahsoka Tano and her accessories can be obtained by purchasing the Battle Pass. Unfortunately, Epic did not add her lightsabers as cosmetic items. Instead, they were released only as a gameplay item.

Bug fixes

Thanks to Fortnite’s Trello board, we can track bug fixes that have arrived with the update. Here are all the fixes that have arrived:

• Players not receiving messages about XP earned in UEFN islands
• Security cameras not showing the yellow tracking beam
• Mid-match objectives in tournaments not granting points
• Players taking fall damage when landing on a Crash Pad Jr.
• Sprint button missing on UEFN maps (mobile)

Other Fortnite patch notes

Epic Games has released a lot of other game data, indicating the return of a few more items in the future. These will likely be enabled with a content update very soon.

Fortnite will soon get a massive change to the user interface. This includes a big change to the Item Shop. Players will be able preview cosmetic items without having to open them separately, and it’ll be much easier to scroll down through multiple sections.
