Fortnite servers usually go down at least once every month for major updates. Epic Games takes them down frequently to ensure that the patching process goes smoothly. Due to this, many players are already used to server shutdowns. However, the Fortnite developer recently announced another shutdown, which will be different.

Epic announced another server downtime, giving us several details about it. Thanks to this, we now know when it will begin and how long it will last. This article will explain everything you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite downtime, so you can plan your gaming session!

Fortnite servers will go down on Thursday morning

The latest Fortnite downtime occurred on Tuesday night, as servers unexpectedly went down for approximately an hour. The game had login and matchmaking issues, but interestingly, some players were unaffected by them. Besides Fortnite, a few other games also had problems, including Rocket League and Fall Guys. Unfortunately, another similar downtime is around the corner.

Epic Games announced the next downtime on its public status page. This time, the company will perform maintenance of Epic Online Services, which is why other games will also be unavailable. The downtime will begin on Thursday, June 20, at 2 AM Eastern Time.

Epic Online Services is scheduled for maintenance on June 20 at 6AM UTC / 2AM ET. During the maintenance window, there will be 30 minutes of downtime, followed by degraded availability for up to 3 hours for the following services:
– Sessions
– Lobbies
– Custom invites

Epic Games

While the upcoming Fortnite downtime shouldn’t last for more than 30 minutes, servers may not function properly until 6 AM ET. This goes for all the other games affected by the maintenance of Epic Online Services, so you may not be able to play Rocket League properly either.

Most downtimes bring new updates and new content to Fortnite, but this won’t be the case. Due to this, if you planned to play the popular battle royale game on early Thursday, you should probably try something out until servers become stable.
