Epic Games released a couple of new features in Fortnite Season 4. Considering that the season has only been out for 10 days, some players still haven’t explored everything that it brought. Interestingly, the game developer has already removed one of the new features. Due to this, many members of the community might never get to experience it.

Will Epic bring it back to Fortnite? We’ll have to wait and see.

This Fortnite feature was removed after only a few hours

If you didn’t play in the first few hours of the new season, you probably didn’t even see this new Fortnite feature. As you probably noticed, the new map has a couple of new POIs and bosses. All of the bosses are protected by henchmen, who are generally easy to eliminate. However, many players don’t know that it was possible to recruit these henchmen to your aid.

Interestingly, this feature was only active on the first day of Season 4. Once you knocked down a henchman, you had an option to either eliminate them or recruit them. Once recruited, henchmen would act like hireable NPCs, following you around the map and fighting by your side. However, this is no longer the case, as Epic removed this new Fortnite feature.

At the moment, no one knows why it’s no longer possible to recruit henchmen. However, considering that we had server issues early in the season, there is a chance that the feature caused some problems, which is why Epic removed it. Considering how useful recruiting is, we expect the Fortnite developer to fix it and bring it back to the game.

Epic removed a couple of other features as well, such as Wastelander’s Challenges. On top of this, the current season is the first season to have a non-exclusive Battle Pass. While Fortnite players are not strangers to changes, it’s still quite odd that Epic removed a new feature on the very first day of this season.

The next major Fortnite update is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3. The update will bring many new things to the game, and hopefully, it will also bring back henchmen recruiting.
