Fortnite Season 5 was just released, yet some players are already wondering when it will end. Considering how unique this season is, it makes sense. Before the OG Fortnite season was released, there was a lot of talk about it being the shortest season in the history of the videogame. However, is this true?

The return of Chapter 1 comes with a lot of hype and excitement. After all, the first chapter was last seen more than four years ago, so it’s no surprise that many players are excited. Unfortunately, Season 5 will be the shortest Fortnite season of all time.

The exact ending date of the Fortnite season can be found below.

When will the OG Fortnite season end?

The current Fortnite season will end on Saturday, December 2, at 10 PM Eastern Time. Considering that it will be active for only a month, it will be the shortest season in the videogame history. Epic Games may change the ending date at some point, but even if this happens, the date will only be postponed by a few days.

The previous record for the shortest Fortnite season was held by Chapter 1 – Season 1, which lasted for only 50 days. The third Fortnite season is in second place with a duration of 58 days. These are the only two seasons that lasted shorter than two months.

The longest Fortnite season, in comparison, was Chapter 2 – Season 1, which lasted for 128 days. While this season brought a new chapter and many changes, many players complained about how long it was, which is why Epic will likely stick to shorter seasons that last for two to three months.

After the OG Fortnite season ends, we expect to see Chapter 5 – Season 1. This season will probably have a regular duration and end sometime in either February or March 2024.
