Epic Games has announced full details on Fortnite's v5.0 patch, which ushers in the start of the highly anticipated season 5 of the popular shooter.

After teasing us all week with burgers and llamas mysteriously disappearing from battle royale and into the real world (no, it really did happen; there's proof here, if you don't believe us), season 5 is rolling out today and the servers are currently down preparing for launch.

So, what's new? Well, for starters, Fortnite Battle Royale is receiving an All Terrain Kart, aka ATK, which is basically a golf buggy that can fit you and a bunch of mates in.

Rifts are also opening up all over the place, which you're encouraged to enter if you've got the stones. Having said that, Epic's not really going into much detail on them right now, so give them a try for yourself.

Meanwhile, Save the World, which I'm told no one really plays anymore, has received a Challenge the Horde mode that sees you teaming up to defeat incoming waves of husks. In addition, the new Road Trip event introduces the Wild West Heroes alongside a western-inspired Flintlock Weapons set.

New areas in the map have also opened up, including Paradise Palms and Lazy Links, plus more locations that the developer isn't discussing just yet.

Have a butcher's at the full list of patch notes for more bug fixes and other details.
