Rubius is a Spanish content creator who’s well-known for playing Fortnite. As of September 2024, he has 40.4 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, along with more than seven billion views. On top of this, the 34-year-old gamer set the world record for the most viewers on a Fortnite live stream, as his stream was watched by more than 1 million viewers back in 2018.
Adding Rubius skin to Fortnite makes a lot of sense, and many players look forward to it. However, you can also unlock the skin early and for free. To do this, you need to participate in a special cup on Saturday, September 21.
The Rubius Fortnite and his back bling will be free for one day
Rubius will receive his skin on September 25, as this is the day it will come to the Item Shop. Besides the skin, all the other cosmetics will be released, including his wrap and pickaxe. However, Rubius’ back bling, which is a cat named Wilson, has received a lot of attention. Luckily, you will be able to unlock it for free in just a few days.
To get early access to the new skin and all the other cosmetics, you’ll have to play in the Rubius Cup on Saturday. If you place high enough, you’ll receive the skin for free. While Epic Games hasn’t released specific details regarding the cup, we expect at least 5000 players to get the set of these cosmetic items for free.
To check when the tournament begins in your region, you’ll have to visit the Compete tab. However, keep in mind that the tournament is not currently available in the game. Due to this, you’ll have to wait for a day or two before you can check all the details.
