Fortnite is in its seventh year, yet still very popular. Epic Games keeps finding ways to attract new players and keep older ones. Thanks to frequent updates and numerous experiments, the game has become the king of the battle royale genre.

The return of the Fortnite OG map turned out to be another successful experiment for Epic. Thanks to the throwback season, millions of players returned to the videogame to relive its original map once again. With the release of Chapter 5, Epic Games has prepared many new things and will look to break even more records.

According to Epic Games, more than 100 million players logged into Fortnite during November 2023. The company claims that this is another Fortnite record, and it’s no surprise considering how popular it was. In the first week of the OG Season, the videogame had 44.7 million players in a single day, which was incredible.

It’s impressive that the game, which celebrated its sixth birthday in September, still keeps breaking records. With the release of Fortnite Chapter 5, we expect more records to be broken, especially with so many new features that are coming.

Daily vs. Monthly users

It’s important to note the difference between daily and monthly users. The 100-million figure includes all unique players that logged in during the month.

Despite having the most successful month ever, Epic Games doesn’t seem to be interested in keeping the OG map in Chapter 5. While this may sound like an outrageous move, the company likely has a plan. With so many new modes coming out in the next chapter, Epic probably wants players to try them out. The OG map will probably return at some point, just not at the very start of the new chapter.

December 2023 should start off with a bang, as a new live event is around the corner. Considering that all Fortnite live events have had a few million concurrent players, we expect the next one to follow suit. The current Fortnite record for the most concurrent players is 15.3 million, but it might be broken soon.
