We’re all gearing up for a new season in Fortnite, with Chapter 5 Season 2 just around the corner. This will of course bring new rewards and unlockables, which can be added to by purchasing the Battle Pass.

While many love grinding all the accessories they can manage by completing quests and getting to the highest levels, some players in the community are begging Epic Games not to repeat this feature used in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.

Fortnite players don’t want this in bonus rewards

Posting on Reddit, u/OneOdd1sBoi said, “I am actually begging Epic not to put V-bucks in the Bonus rewards ever again”.

Gaining V-bucks by leveling up and getting extra through the Battle Pass isn’t the issue raised here. Rather putting them in the Bonus Rewards section. The OP claims to have run out of quests to do due to the grind of hitting those extra levels.

Previously, if you reached level 100, this would be enough to unlock all the essential rewards from the Battle Pass. Now, that has been bumped up to level 140.

The comments section exposes tricks players have been using to gain extra XP to level up. Many of these involve going AFK. u/H20Scorpion points out you can go up five levels by going AFK in LEGO Fortnite for three and a half hours. This will grant you 30k XP every 15 minutes. With the quest resetting daily for this, you can gain five levels a day, every day, without actually engaging with the game.

This raises a bigger question. Why should users have to employ these methods just to gain rewards they have paid for in Fortnite? Surely the reward levels should be able to be completed by actually playing the game in a regular way. You should have to put in a bit more effort than the casual player to hit the top levels, but the grind shouldn’t involve sinking time into the game as a background activity.
