Fortnitemares 2024 is almost coming to an end and this year’s edition brought tons of new cosmetics, map changes, and gameplay items for Fortnite players. There were also numerous quests and challenges across Battle Royale, the returning Horde Rush LTM, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival that players could complete for free rewards.
Still, one of the most frightening challenges tested a player’s wit and skill when it turned out to be a nightmare straight out of a Saw film. Here’s what went down.
Fortnite player gets bizarre Jigsaw challenge to eliminate himself in a game
A Fortnite player named Fearless Result shared an image on the FortniteBR subreddit where they accepted a Jigsaw Challenge from one of the terminals on the map and were asked to eliminate themselves in under 3 minutes.
To those unaware, Jigsaw Challenges replaced Bounty SHADOW Briefings in Fortnite during Fortnitemares where if a player interacts with a terminal, they are randomly matched with another player for a duel. If you eliminate your enemy in a certain time period, you survive, else you both are eliminated by a bomb on your heads.
However, Fearless was asked to eliminate themselves when they accepted the challenge, which only meant that either they had to down themself by taking fall damage or waiting for the bomb to blow once the timer ended.
Many Saw fans commented below an image and related it to one of the instances you’d see in a film from the popular horror franchise. One such fan said, “Amanda still rigging the traps I see.” Another wrote, “Die or Die. Make your choice.”
However, when Fearless was asked by another user what choice they made, the player revealed that they got eliminated by an enemy in the lobby. While Fortnitemares is still underway, check out what Epic has in store for players in the next season.
