Fans of battle royale shooter Fortnite have been designing their own ideas for potential future cosmetics for some time, but the latest one might be the most adorable yet.
Over on the FortniteBR subreddit, a user by the name of Peco2057 has submitted their concept for a ‘Gwinny Patroller’ skin with the features of a baby penguin. Despite already being a creature that easily elicits ‘oooooohs’ in nature, Peco’s design somehow makes them even cuter, garbed up in combat winter wear complete with jacket, wooly hat and even their flippers looking like mittens to keep them warm in the cold.
The design would put the proposed character as part of the Winter Tricksters gang, which has appeared in Fortnite several times before, including as part of the currently available Fortnite Crew set, and the Gwinny Patroller fits right in with the existing Volpez (who takes after an Arctic Wolf) and Polar Patroller (Polar Bear) skins.
After posting their concept to the subreddit, the design has already garnered its fair share of fans. “Great concept, fits the Fortnite style and is unique. Well done!” exclaimed cereal_killah_1980. “Adorable,” adds Profit_alex. “I’d love to see it in game!” Many are praising the skin for the great idea of a baby penguin too, including Johnathan_986579 who says “An actual UNIQUE concept that isn’t just a generic female skin? Count me in – very nice design!”
We’re big fans here of the skin too, and absolutely agree with those who’d be willing to slap down their VBucks down for this skin were Epic to make it official and put in the store. “Do we even have a Penguin Skin?” asks SequzzyYT. “If not then EPIC MAKE THIS CONCEPT A THING RIGHT NOW!” Finally, Kajetus channels their inner Elmyra Duff with a fairly simple request. “It’s a penguin. So cute. I need it. NOW!”
