Epic Games has made many changes to XP in Fortnite over the past few years. The game has many more core modes now than it did back in 2017, so balancing them all can be quite tricky. However, the truth is that leveling up is much faster and easier in 2025 than it was years ago. Reaching level 200 and unlocking all Battle Pass rewards is a piece of cake, and many players go well beyond that.
The latest Fortnite update brought another buff to XP, making the leveling process even faster. This change affects the OG mode, which will soon get into a new season.
Playtime XP in Fortnite just received another buff
Next time you play the OG Fortnite mode, you will likely notice faster leveling. The playtime XP was buffed by 100%, as it now grants 1,200 XP per minute, up from 600. This means that you will receive this amount of XP by simply being in this game mode. On top of this, you will receive leveling progress for other in-game actions, such as getting eliminations, opening chests, and more.
Considering that Season 2 of OG Fortnite ends on March 25, it’s no surprise that Epic boosted its XP. The current OG Pass will only stay active for a few more days, so this change will help players level up faster and unlock all the rewards.
If this buff isn’t enough, however, Fortnite XP maps offer an easy way to gain levels and complete the pass. Furthermore, Epic Games enabled Supercharged XP over the weekend, allowing players to level up faster in every game mode.
The next OG Pass will come with the release of Season 3 and will bring more remixed versions of older skins, such as Elite Agent, Dark Voyager, and The Reaper. The pass will cost 1,000 V-Bucks and will be given automatically to Fortnite Crew subscribers.
