The Fortnite map will go through many changes once again. With a new season on the horizon, Epic Games has prepared a lot of new things. The season will come on Friday, May 24, and bring many new additions. While the game developer has been quite subtle regarding Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, we may already know what locations will be changed.

Not only has Epic teased the new locations, but the company also hinted at the removal of existing ones. In this article, we will take a look at the upcoming map changes in Fortnite.

The next Fortnite season will bring many map changes

Earlier this week, Epic posted a short teaser video for the next season of the popular game. The video shows a couple of new items and Battle Pass skins, including the Power Armor. The teaser also reveals a big change to Snooty Steppes. Considering that this place hasn’t been very popular since Peter Griffin left it, changing it makes sense.

On top of this, Epic also sent out an interesting poll regarding the upcoming map changes. The Spanish Fortnite account on WhatsApp asked its followers to choose which place they were going to miss the most, hinting at the removal.

The WhatsApp poll included the following options, hinting that the new Season 2 POIs could soon be leaving the game:

  • Mount Olympus
  • Fencing Fields
  • Restored Reels
  • The Underworld

However, it has now been confirmed by Shiina that Fencing Fields will be leaving the game, but the other three will be remaining, despite the season leaving the Greek mythology theme in Chapter 5 Season 3. Like Snooty Steppes, Fencing Fields is another location that was popular in the first season of the chapter. However, it no longer has a boss or a Mythic weapon, which is why removing it makes a lot of sense.

Epic has revealed a couple of new locations through teasers, which is why we know that a Fallout-themed POI will come in the next season. Furthermore, we will also be able to visit a Nitro arena and a place that looks almost identical to The Shark from Chapter 2 Season 2.

The next Fortnite season is scheduled to be released on Friday at 2 AM Eastern Time. Besides the map changes, Fortnite Season 3 will also bring many new things, including new features, items, Battle Pass skins, and more.
