Each season, various new features are added to Fortnite, changing the gameplay, meta, mechanics, and so on. Along the way, gameplay for players also evolves, and the majority of them switched from conventional builds to Zero Build, making it a popular choice.
However, one of the most popular elements that loopers enjoyed throughout their Chapter 4 journey was vaulted in Chapter 5, and since then, the user base has been demanding its return. The wait is finally over, as a huge leak confirms its triumphant comeback in Chapter 6.
Reality Augments are coming back to Fortnite in Chapter 6, leaks suggest
According to a major leak by data miners like FortLeaks, Epic is working on bringing back Augments “in some way in the upcoming Chapter 6 which arrives on December 2, 2024. However, leaks also suggest that they’re coming back in a whole new way compared to Chapter 4 and players may be in for something fresh.
To those unaware, Augments were random rerolls available to Fortnite players in the middle of a Battle Royale match that would grant them certain items or abilities, based on their selection. The feature was removed with Chapter 5 Season 1 and throughout 2024, Augments have not been in the game.
However, Chapter 6, which is also rumored to be Epic’s most ambitious Fortnite season yet may just bring back the feature that was loved by players. Upon seeing the leak, numerous users turned in their thoughts, with one saying, “That would be HUGE! Augments were well received by the community in general.”
Another user wrote, “This was one of the best parts of chapter 4 so that’s great.” A third one said, “Yay! Really missed them. But don’t want them instead of medallions. Maybe a mix of the two?”
However, several users thought that it would rather be better to swap the new Augments system with Medallions as it levels the playing field for Fortnite players. Of course, if only a first-person camera is coming to Fortnite, players believe it’ll be exciting to see the Augments HUD from a unique perspective.
