If you applied for a Fortnite x FTC refund in the past, you may soon receive a deposit in your account. The application deadline was originally supposed to be in early 2024. However, the Federal Trade Commission extended it, allowing more players to get money from the massive settlement.

The FTC began processing the first round of refunds on Tuesday, December 10. The comission is sending approximately $72 million to Fortnite players, with $173 million to be processed later.

How to get a Fortnite refund

If you are from the United States and you played Fortnite between January 2017 and September 2022, you may be eligible for an FTC refund. To submit your claim, you need to visit the FTC website and provide your account information. Keep in mind that your account will not be affected by this procedure. However, if you are eligible, you will get a payout of at least $100 on average.

Lina Khan, the Commissioner of the United States Federal Trade Commission, announced the first round of refunds. The FTC is sending $72 million to 629,344 affected players. On average, this comes down to $114 per payment. Some players reported getting up to $250 from the settlement, which is certainly a nice surprise.

The FTC is sending a Fortnite refund via PayPal or check. If you receive it, you need to cash the cash within 90 days and accept a PayPal payment within a month. If you still haven’t applied for a refund, you can do so for another month. The commission has extended the application deadline until January 10, 2025, which likely means that the next round of refund will arrive sometime in 2025.

In total, $245 million will be split among more eligible players. However, keep in mind that the next round may result in lower individual payouts due to the extended deadline.
