The Fortnite x Disney collaboration is one of the biggest projects Epic Games is currently working on. The two companies have collaborated many times, achieving lots of mutual success. The most recent collaboration arrived earlier this year, as Fortnite had a special Star Wars season. Now, it’s time to go back to the main project, which is set to arrive in 2026.
Lately, there have been rumors about Disney and Epic Games not getting along. More specifically, Epic executives were reportedly unhappy with slow decision-making at Disney, which would delay the project. However, according to Tim Sweeney, Epic’s CEO and founder, this is not the case. In fact, the collaboration is going according to plan.
The Fortnite x Disney collaboration has no obstacles
The big project between Disney and Epic will bring immersive experiences that will integrate characters and stories from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more. Furthermore, this project will link real-world Disney experiences with the digital universe, and creators will also be able to create their own Disney maps in Fortnite.
This collaboration is massive and, as such, it requires a lot of effort. Fortunately, it’s going according to plan, which was recently confirmed by Tim Sweeney. The Epic Games CEO refuted a rumor about the disagreement between the two companies.

“The anonymous quote is BS,” Sweeney posted on X, referring to the quote about Epic’s executive being upset with Disney. “The speed of Disney and Epic collaborations like Darth Vader has been awesome and is around 10x the ordinary speed of media company dealings in this business.”
The executive also said Epic had provided a statement to the writer who had spread the rumor, but they had chosen not to print it.
Disney and Epic have already released several iconic characters to Fortnite, from Mr. and Mrs. Incredible to Maleficent and Captain Hook. Many other characters will come to the game in the future, as the big collaboration is planned for Fall 2026. The companies may still face some delays, due to the sheer size of the project. For now, however, there is nothing to be worried about!
