Epic Games has hinted at a possible collaboration with Among Us creators Innersloth, after crediting the studio as the inspiration for a recently-added Fortnite mode.

Despite the Impostors mode’s launch back in August, Epic only gave an official nod to its inspiration this week. The Fortnite v18.20 update acknowledged the team in its patch notes, stating the Impostors mode was “inspired by Among Us from Innersloth!”

In addition to fans, Among Us programmer Gary Porter also pointed out the similarities on Twitter. At the time, he said he was “still kind of offended” on behalf of the indie developer, although admitted he wasn’t around for the development of the map.

However, it seems that’s now all water under the bridge as the official Among Us account responded to the tweets with the eyes emoji. Intriguingly, the Fortnite account itself responded to the response. “We never got to talk about how you inspired us. What do you think about working together some time?” The official account responded in the affirmative, encouraging Epic to “have ur(sic) Agents contact our Crewmates.”

Fortnite has been no stranger to cameos from other games in the past. It’s already welcomed Street Fighter, Tomb Raider and Horizon: Zero Dawn to its world to name but three. Hopefully, we won’t be waiting too long to find out. Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that Epic are looking into potentially making a Fortnite movie.
