Fortnite Chapter 5 will bring many new features and likely a new map. Each chapter of the battle royale game has had its unique characteristics, so we expect the fifth chapter to follow suit. According to several reputable leakers, the next chapter will likely bring an open-world game mode as well.
If everything goes according to plan, Epic Games may release the new chapter in late 2023. Due to this, the next Fortnite season may only last for 28 days, making it the shortest season of all time. While the release of Chapter 5 hasn’t been confirmed yet, we’ll likely get more information about it soon.

Fortnite’s open-world mode to bring dynamic POIs
According to Ako, one of the most reputable Fortnite leakers, Epic Games is working on an open-world game mode for Chapter 5. Considering that the development team has released many amazing features in the past few chapters, this comes as no surprise.
The leaker has discovered that the game mode will feature dynamic POIs, bosses, NPCs, and wildlife. While it’s unclear what dynamic POIs exactly mean, there’s a chance that POIs will change every time players load into a new session. Epic has already experimented with this, but it will be interesting to see this new feature in its full glory.
At the moment, no one knows whether or not the open world will replace the battle royale map. However, roaming around the island and exploring all of its mysteries and beauties certainly sounds like a fantastic idea.
Many leakers believe that Epic Games will release the next Fortnite chapter by the end of the year. If this happens, we expect Chapter 5 to be released in early December 2023. Until then, we’ll get a lot of new content in Chapter 4 – Season 4, and a big update to user interface.
