When Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode debuted in 2017, it set a new standard for gaming with an ever-changing map and seasonal themes. Now 7 years old, the game has various game modes, has completed over 20 seasons, and competes with games such as Apex Legends, Call of Duty Warzone, and PUBG.
However, Epic released a mini-version of Battle Royale inspired by Warzone Resurgence called Reload in Fortnite, which proved more popular than the main BR modes. Epic has now revealed a new Reload feature based on COD multiplayer modes, which Fortnite players have been requesting ever since launch.
Fortnite Reload to get a map rotation feature in the next season
Fortnite has finally announced that its Reload mode is getting a new Map Rotation feature in the upcoming Season OG Chapter 2.
This means that a new Reload map will be rolled out with the update and players will be given randomized map shuffles between matches, similar to how it works in Warzone and Resurgence modes in Call of Duty.
When Reload was first launched, it brought the OG Fortnite map from Chapter 1 with just over 8 POIs on a smaller map. However, rumors suggest that players will get a version of the Chapter 2 map or more seasons from Chapter 1 in the rotation with the Reload update.
The community responded with a positive sentiment since they’ve been waiting on this feature for a while now. One such player said, “One map from each Chapter rotating through the day would be PEAK.”
Another user wrote, “A rotation of the Chapter 1 and 2 Map would be sick.” However, some wondered if a Solo Reload mode will arrive at some point, which is still unclear at the moment.
Still, anticipation is high among the community as Chapter 2 Remix is about to arrive in just a week and players will take a trip back to one of the most beloved chapters in Fortnite.
