Fortnite players have various tools at their disposal. Many of these can be used to eliminate enemies, so using weapons is not the only option. As many players have found out the hard way, fall damage is a great way of eliminating the competition. This is also one of the most satisfying ways, as almost no one expects it.
While dying to fall damage isn’t exactly rare, an entire squad dying to it isn’t something that happens every day. Yet, that is precisely what happened to one Fortnite player, who posted a screenshot of this situation on Reddit. Not only did fall damage knock out five players, but it did so from 685 meters! This is arguably the strangest series of eliminations, and it’s no surprise that many players joked about it.
Fortnite players believe that the Battle Bus driver was angry
The screenshot posted by Reddit user sanricel shows five players getting knocked out by fall damage from 685 meters. Considering how strange this was, the player wondered what exactly happened. While some players had interesting theories, such as players falling from the top of the statue at Mount Olympus, most of them joked.
“They didn’t thank the bus driver,” InevitablePale9964 posted. User faortniteplayer_ZBBR added another comment to this: “And he stole their glider.” “Due to an issue, the battle bus has temporarily been disabled,” Ill-Wedding6744 wrote, poking fun at Epic Games for disabling bugged items and objects.
“They all drank the punch and jumped at the same time…dang cults,” NoleDynasty2490 wrote, while CatMobster believes that these Fortnite players “forgot to pack their gliders.” “There was only 95 gliders in the bus,” ExtremeGD joked.
Since the original poster did not provide a replay video, it’s hard to say what exactly happened. However, Reddit user Lowherefast has an interesting theory regarding the incident. “Sometimes bots run into each other while gliding causing their glider to disappear,” the player explained. “Happens all the time, but I’ve never seen that many. They both lose their glider so they happen in pairs.”
This is a likely scenario, as the statue at Mount Olympus is not 685 meters above the ground. Despite this, there is a scenario in which such a fall could’ve been attributed to the Battle Bus height. “The fall itself from the bus, to a slope, to their deaths, could be accumulated from the bus height itself. Jump from bus. Land on slope, sliding down. Fall off cliff. Death,” freedivemonkey explained.
Unfortunately, while these theories make sense, we probably won’t find out what exactly happened in this situation. Due to this, this series of eliminations will likely forever remain a mystery!
