Another Fortnite ban wave is here! Epic Games has removed numerous cheaters from its popular game, and many of them won’t return to it anytime soon. This time, even players who haven’t directly cheated were banned. Epic has made Fortnite’s fair-play policy much stricter with the release of Chapter 6, and some players are finally seeing the extent of it.

A few days before the release of Chapter 6, Epic announced new ways to combat cheaters. Due to this, a lot of players affected by the latest ban wave did not use any cheating software, yet they were banned for 28 days.

Newest Fortnite ban wave has caused community uproar

Fortnite streamer AussieAntics reported that Fortnite did a massive ban wave on Monday night. The streamer claims that in some regions, competitive players moved up by 50 places, which shows the magnitude of the ban. While it’s mostly competitive players who were banned, some of the cheaters from casual modes were also removed from the game.

Similar reports surfaced on Reddit and other social networks, and unsurprisingly, banned Fortnite players are not too happy about it. X user clubzftw claims that they have been banned for simply teaming up with a cheater. While this player hasn’t directly cheated, this falls under Fortnite’s new anti-cheating policy, where players who team up with cheaters receive 28-day bans.

This Fortnite ban wave is the first one in Chapter 6. Considering that Epic Games is ramping up legal action against both players and cheat makers, we expect more of them to happen soon. The game developer has a strict policy against cheaters, and even big-time content creators were banned in the past. Now, it’s time to further enforce it and make Fortnite a cheater-free game.
