It looks like a collaboration between battle royale shooter and Five Nights at Freddy’s could be on the cards, after a survey mentioning the fan-favourite horror game appeared online.

According to Fortnite content creator iFireMonkey, the survey was sent to a number of Fortnite players with a huge list of entertainment properties across cartoons, video games, movies, brands, TV series, musicians, pop culture celebrities and more and asking them which of these IPs they were familiar with. Naturally, the survey has sparked intense speculation from the Fortnite community on the possibility of future crossovers, with Five Nights at Freddy’s one of the strongest contenders thanks to the imminent release of the Hollywood movie based on the series.

We – and several fans – can certainly see how Five Nights at Freddy’s could work in Fortnite’s world – the animatronic creatures themselves such as Bonnie, Freddy Fazbear and Chica would certainly work as potential skins – and mock-ups online have shown what they could look like in the store. It’s most likely going to be a case of wrangling legal contracts, and if Epic feel that the series is a good fit for the battle royale shooter in the first place.

While none of these potential collabs are, by any means, confirmation that they’ll make it into the game – many fans are already cherry picking what collabs they want to see – with Hollow Knight being another strong contender for some such as Gh0stKnight. The list is fairly long – and there’s definitely some on there we wouldn’t expect to see any time soon, such as Pokémon and even Call of Duty. (We’re also not sure how ‘Netflix Original Comedies’ would be represented, but here we are.) There’s also a few mentions on the list that have already previously appeared in the game – like Dragon Ball, Kylo Ren and Spider-Man. But it at least shows that Epic has no intention to stop these lucrative crossovers any time soon.
