Absolute Doom is the name of the next Fortnite season, and its release date is just around the corner. Epic Games has revealed a lot of things coming in the season, including its Battle Pass. Interestingly, the company also changed its release date, so the season no longer comes out on Friday Eastern Time, as originally planned.
Considering that the release date was changed, many players are confused about the start of the Absolute Doom season. However, our article will clarify everything you need to know.
When does the Fortnite Absolute Doom season start in my region?
Epic originally planned to release the next Fortnite season on Friday, August 16, at 2 AM Eastern Time. However, this is no longer the case. The release date of Absolute Doom was changed to Thursday, 11 PM ET. Despite this being a small change that shouldn’t affect many players, the Fortnite developer announced a new XP boost to make up for it.

It’s important to note that this is not when the season will be playable, though. While you will be able to download the update around 11 PM ET on Thursday, the game will not be available right away due to server downtime. The downtime can last anywhere from 30 minutes to more than 10 hours, so it’s impossible to say when exactly it will end.
In most, if not all regions, the Fortnite Absolute Doom season will be playable on Friday, August 16.
Fortnite Absolute Doom release date in the US
The United States has four major time zones, spanning from Pacific Time (PT) to Eastern Time (ET). The new Fortnite season will come out Thursday night in all of them. However, players in PT will get an update around 8 PM, while those in Mountain Time will get it at 9 PM. Central Time Fortnite players will get the Absolute Doom season at 10 PM, and ET players at 11 PM.

Fortnite players from the United Kingdom will get the Absolute Doom season on Friday at 4 AM.
