Luminous Productions has announced it has delayed the release of upcoming adventure Forspoken to October 11, 2022.

In a message to the game’s official Twitter account, the team explained their decision. “Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall.”

The game sees Frey transported from the modern day to a magical world via a mysterious power. A force known as The Break has corrupted this new world and everything it touches, aside from Frey. Naturally then, it’s up to her to acclimatise to her new surroundings, defeat the Break and somehow get back home.

The game was first announced back in the Summer of 2020 with the at-the-time mysterious moniker Project Athia. The true name, along with its full plot was then revealed the next March. Frey will be portrayed by Ella Balinska who is also set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming Resident Evil TV project.

Forspoken will now arrive on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 11, 2022.
