After an underwhelming reception upon release and the development team being back absorbed into Square Enix, Forspoken is set to release a DLC expansion this spring. Called Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust, the DLC is set to come out on May 26 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Upon release, there was no shortage of criticism thrown at Forspoken for underwhelming dialogue throughout the story, but people who enjoyed the initial release seem to be excited about this new add-on adventure.
In Tanta We Trust is a prequel to the story found in the main game, where you will be playing as protagonist Frey as she travels back in time 25 years. During this timeframe, you will find out what happened to cause the collapse of Athia and the Tantas to go mad.
This time around, Frey is joined by Tanta Cinta, who provides new abilities and utilization as you explore the area and work alongside her. It isn’t known how much the new DLC will cost on its own as of this writing, but if you have the Deluxe Edition of Forspoken, you will gain early access to the release on May 23 for no extra cost.

As noted above, Forspoken did not necessarily light the world on fire when it was released earlier this year. Square Enix was disappointed in the sales numbers, and plenty of social media discourse was aimed at the writing. That said, In Tanta We Trust could be a way for Forspoken to wrap everything together nicely and go out with a bang.
