It was bound to happen sooner or later, but it was sooner. On October 21st 2005 PC and Mac owners will be able to get their hands on the latest version of Football Manager and the social lives of many Europen football fans will be over. The 2006 edition includes up-to-date player stats and a whole host of new features.

We can’t wait to see the reaction of the Football Manager community to Football Manager 2006, having hit our optimum release date, rather than the previous announced estimated date” commented Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive. “The team at SI have worked amazingly hard this year to improve on Football Manager 2005 and we are all delighted with the outcome. We all look forward to losing many hours playing the game properly, rather than testing it!”

If you can’t wait the few weeks until release you’ll be glad to hear that the Gold demo is now available to download from sigames.com. It’s available in two flavours. Strawberry is 200 MBs worth of demo, with 8 languages and 16 leagues, while the vanilla demo is a smaller download and only features the English and Scottish leagues, with English language only.

Look for a full review of the game in late October.
