Square Enix has announced the arrival of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.

According to an official announcement, the complete set will include the first six titles in the popular franchise. Those that want to play the game on modern systems will be able to purchase each title individually or as a bundle. Square Enix’s post goes on to list the contents of the newly announced Pixel Remaster physical edition, which includes the following:
- Final Fantasy I-VI Collection
- Anniversary Edition Goods Box
- A bonus lenticular sleeve for the game package
- A vinyl record set featuring newly arranged game music on two records with exclusive cover artwork by Kazuko Shibuya
- An exclusive art book showing showcasing Final Fantasy character pixel art
- Eight stylized pixel art character figures in window packaging
Although the physical edition for this popular collection was initially made available on Square Enix’s online store, it seems that it has since been sold out as it is no longer available for purchase. There was previously an option for potential buyers to place their names on a waiting list but even that options has been removed from the site.

Numerous players weren’t able to get their hands on this rare collection since pre-orders were released in the middle of the night. Although this initially seemed like a puzzling strategy, it becomes understandable enough since Square Enix is a Japanese company after all.
Unfortunately, it is still currently unknown whether another batch of pre-orders for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster will be made available to the public. However, plenty of devoted followers are still hopeful of another potential drop in the future.
