Final Fantasy 16 fans are complaining about motion blur, which is only adding to the issues with performance.

The game has launched with an absolutely incredible visual aesthetic, as expected from Square Enix’s most popular franchise. However, while the world of Valisthea looks stunning, some players are having trouble staying engaged in the game due to some graphics issues.

The most prominent issue is with motion blur. Our advice when helping gamers set up the best graphics settings for games like Final Fantasy 16 is to disable motion-blur, but you’re not going to be able to do that with this game.

With no motion motion blur toggle option, all Final Fantasy 16 players are forced to put up with it. For many, motion blur means motion sickness, and when we played the game we found it incredibly off-putting.

Fans are taking to social media to voice their complaints with the game’s feature, with some saying that “FF16’s motion blur has my stomach in knots,” while others are responding diligently with temporary hotfixes: “turning the camera speed to min and playing in a well lit room helps.”

While the community hasn’t responded kindly to Final Fantasy 16’s motion blur, there’s been some good news. A recent pre-launch developer live-stream confirmed that Final Fantasy 16’s motion blur is going to be addressed with a toggle option, which will surely help iron out the issue for those finding it unbearable.

The issue with Final Fantasy 16’s motion blur is one of a few problems that the game’s performance is facing. While many reviews out there are praising the game’s graphical performance, we found that there were pretty drastic frame-rate drops in both Quality and Performance modes. Sometimes, FPS was dropping from 60 to what appeared to be in the 40-range, however these issues were often isolated to boss-fights and areas of dense population. However, what we experienced was manageable at times, while the Reddit community have suggested that it’s just “disappointing”.
