EA has announced that FIFA 12, released on September 30 in the UK and September 27 in North America, has already notched up an estimated 3.2 million unit sales. According to EA that has resulted in over 200 million minutes of online play since the game’s release – 170 years of continuous FIFA 12 play in one week.
“FIFA 12 is a stunning achievement by our team at EA Canada,” said Andrew Wilson, executive vice-president of EA SPORTS.

“The massive FIFA online community has overwhelmingly connected to the new live services in the game, including EA SPORTS Football Club, and we intend to keep them engaged all season long as FIFA 12 follows the heartbeat of the football season.”
In other stats, the iPhone and iPad version of FIFA 12 has sold 879,000 units, October 1 was the busiest day for online gaming in EA Sports history, and more than 14 million trades have already occurred within Ultimate Team.
