Farming Simulator: It’s big business. And this year’s game promises to totally revamp the visuals to deliver stunning “photo-realistic” tractors and graphical effects “way ahead of the previous version”.

‘Pfft,’ you might think. ‘Games publishers say that all the time.’ But if these aren’t the most realistic virtual tractors you’ve ever seen, I don’t know what are.

Built on a brand new graphics and physics engine, Farming Simulator 15 is set to introduce a new Nordic setting, a new interface, and new gameplay mechanics – including logging.

Players will now be given access to a new range of harvesters, chainsaws, chippers and trailers that they can use to manage forested areas, or take their trusty tractor online and manage a farm with up to 15 players.

“Sticking to the recipe that has so far proved such a smash hit, the Farming Simulator franchise is now moving up a gear,” said Focus Interactive. “A new graphics and physics engine, new visual effects, a new interface, new gameplay mechanics and, of course, a new and vast game environment; Farming Simulator 15 combines all the right ingredients to offer the richest and most detailed farming experience ever.”

Focus says that the game will launch on PC in October, with a PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 release following in early 2015.
