Ubisoft has revealed that the single-player campaign in Far Cry 5 is no slouch in terms of length.

Speaking during an interview with GameSpot, the game’s Executive Producer, Dan Hay, revealed that ‘a good player will go through it in 25 hours,’ though noted additional activities such as fishing and hunting will no doubt bump that figure up considerably. In fact, he noted that some playtests saw gamers pottering around in these areas for around four – five hours.

This sounds about in line with previous Far Cry games, which typically packed in at least 20 hours worth of playtime for the main story. Of course, there’s also the co-op and multiplayer to consider, which will also likely eat away at your free time once you’re done liberating Hope County from the nefarious Joseph Seed.

Speaking of the single-player mode, Hay previously confirmed that the campaign will be fully playable offline, and that microtransactions will also be present though they won’t have any impact on gameplay.

Elsewhere, he was also asked if the game’s map editor, Far Cry Arcade, is capable of supporting a gameplay experience similar to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or Fortnite.

‘That would be super cool,’ he said in response. ‘Obviously we are growing the tools with every iteration, and this time it was a big, big growth rate for us.’

Far Cry 5 is due out in the US and UK on March 27 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
